Bia Papadopoulou


She was born in Athens in 1961. She studied History of Art from 1978 to 1982 at the University of Ohio, from where she graduated with High Honors [B.F.A.]. She continued her graduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley from 1980 to 1982 [M.A.]. In 1982, she was awarded a Peggy Guggenheim Fellowship and followed the educational, intern program of the Solomon R.Guggenheim Museum of New York.

She has published numerous articles in Greek and foreign magazines. From 1990 to 1996, she taught history of art at the Educational Program for adults of the American College of Athens. She has curated the shows "Yiannis Gaitis 1945-1967" (Municipal Gallery of Athens, 1996) "Minas" -(Hall D7, Gazi, Municipality of Athens, 1996), "Kelyphos: cell/shell", (Center of Arts Municipality of Athens, 1997), "Stories of infinite changes", (Municipal gallery of Patras, 1997). From 1995 to 1997 she was Secretary General of the Greek Union of Art Critics, an associate member of the International Society of Art Critics. She is also associate member of the Fine Arts committee of the Municipal Gallery of Patras and member of the Fine Arts committee of ART TOPOS.
