George Zongolopoulos, as an independent artist, presented his work "Silver Umbrellas Rain" at Venice Biennale '95 and won much praise from the art critics.
George Zongolopoulos was born in Athens, in 1903.
He studied in Greece, France and Italy. Since 1936 he has effected more than 15 one-man exhibitions in Greece, Italy, Poland, Hungary and Belgium, and participated in many group exhibitions.
He represented Greece at the Venice Biannale three times (1956, 1964 and 1993) and at Sao Paulo Biennale in 1957. He has been honored with many awards and has created many works for public spaces.
