Takis

Takis Takis (Vassilakis), born in 1925, is referred to in various encyclopaedias as one of the major representatives of kinetic art, to which he was a pioneer for his ideas as well as for the materials he is using.

His «signals» and his electromagnetic sculptures, kinetic and sound-creating, have been thoroughly studied by the most eminent French contemporary art theorists, such as Frank Popper and Pierre Restany who recognizes the "limitless genius" of Takis.

The Centre of Research for the Arts and Sciences (CRAS), created by Takis and his collaborators, has its own pages on the web.
