Danae Stratou was born in Athens in 1964. She obtained her AA (Hops) Fine Art-Sculpture from the Central St. Martins College of Art and Design in '87, London. Her Solo exhibitions include a forthcoming at Zoumboulakis Galleries (10/99, Athens).
Danae is one of the 3 partners of DAST Art Team that created the Land Art Installation Desert Breath which covers an area of 100,000 m2 and was presented on location in Egypt in 1997. She has participated in Group exhibitions such as: Expoarte Quadalahara '97, Mexico; 9th Biennale of Sculpture 1996-97, Scyronium Museum, Greece; Women Creators of the Two Seas organized by UNESCO in the context of Thessaloniki Cultural Capital of Europe 1997; Four Decades of Artistic Quest, Cultural Center "Costis Palamas", Greece. She has lectured, as part of DAST Art Team, presenting Desert Breath at: Macedonian Museum of Modern Art, Thessaloniki, 1998; Central-St Martins College of Art & Design, London, '97; Cooper Union, New York, '97; Superior College of Fine Arts, Athens, '97; UCL-Bartlett School of Architecture, London, '97.
Presently she lives and works in Athens.
